On Monday, Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s government announced a cabinet shuffle following Steve Clark’s resignation as housing minister amidst the Greenbelt scandal.
I’ve scanned through the public disclosure statements Ontario MPPs are required to make and found that 38 per cent of cabinet members are landlords and/or invested in real estate (or have a spouse/common-law partner that is).
This is just a teaser of a much broader investigation The Maple will be releasing later this month, which will list provincial representatives that are landlords/invested in real estate in eight of Canada’s provinces. This follows an investigation The Maple published earlier this year documenting which MPs are landlords/invested in real estate.
